Studio Sleeper

The studio sleeper is a unique and extremely versatile style of futon frame which comes in a 39" wide seating area chair or a  54" wide love seat versions. A built in ottoman extension which tucks away under the seat allows either size to be easily converted into four different configurations, depending on your desired use.  

Chair or love seat configuration

When used in this manner the 39" wide version looks like any extra large chair and the 54" wide style like any ordinary love seat. Either or both add an elegant addition to your futon sofa to make it into a complete grouping, or can be used on their own.

Lounger configuration

This is where the uniqueness of this design really starts to come through. Either size version of the studio sleeper style can be used as a lounger in two different ways. There is absolutely nothing like kicking back in either of these positions to read a good book or watch the game on TV. It's like having your chaise in the living room or rec room instead of on the deck (much nicer in winter, and great in the summer too). 

Bed configuration

The studio sleeper design has a built in ottoman that tucks away under the seat until needed for use as a bed. When used in this manner the 39" wide chair becomes a single size bed and the 54" wide style converts to a standard size double bed. This is more like the standard sofa bed design that most people are familiar with as the mattress extends lengthwise when in the bed position. This works well in smaller rooms where a double sofa size futon frame won't fit, but a full single or double size bed is required *See below for futon mattress options for use as a bed.

Futon mattress and cover options

There are several options for mattress and cover configurations available for use with both sizes of the studio sleeper style of frame, depending on how you intend to use it.

1. If you are using the frame as a chair or love seat exclusively. you would purchase a 39" X 54" mattress and cover for the chair size and a 54" X 54" love seat mattress and cover for use on the love seat size.
   
2. If you will only occasionally use either model as a bed, then you would purchase a 39" X 21" chair ottoman futon for the chair size or a 54" X 21" love seat ottoman futon for the love seat size, which can be stored separately and added to the existing set up only when converted to a bed. Separate 39" X 21" and 54" X 21" covers can also be purchased.
3. If your studio sleeper will be used exclusively in the lounger and bed positions, you can purchase a full 39" X 75" single, or 54" X 75" double size futon mattress and cover.
